And I Build an Altar to the One True God

Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt-offerings on the altar

                                                                        Genesis 8

In the mountains of prayer,

I make an altar,

To sacrifice there,

The clean animals of me,

To set a fire to the LORD,

The smoke of me rising,

In the sweet incense of,

Morning Prayer.

Take the pure wildness of my soul,

And do with me as thou desirest, O God.

I offer thee the truth,

in the inward parts,

and in the hidden part

thou mak’st me to know

Wisdom.

(God) gives to all mortals life and breath and all things. From one ancestor he made all nations to inhabit the whole earth, and he allotted the times of their existence and the boundaries of the places where they would live, so that they would search for God and perhaps grope for him and find him — though indeed he is not far from each one of us. For “In him we live and move and have our being”; as even some of your own poets have said…                                                           Acts 17

The place and the time,

In which to live,

To search,

To grope for the Source of All Being,

Is the Here and the Now.

Nothing beyond this, is.

The past is just poorly remembered

thought dust,

The future, mere projection,

Tendrils from fantasizing minds.

Here and Now,

God is,

Here, now, in the breath of my,

Breathing body,

I Am

‘If you love me, you will practice my teachings. And I will ask the Abba, and Abba will give you another Advocate, to be with you for ever. This is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees her nor knows her. You know her, because she abides with you, and she will be in you John 14

Spirit,

Breathe in me,

Ruḥa,

Breathe through me.

Breathing in, I have arrived,

Breathing out, I am home.

~ breathe ~

‘I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you. In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me; because I live, you also will live. On that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.                                                  John 14 contd.

Beloved,

You need not my offerings,

Though you accept them gladly.

I am the one,

Who, through these, am blessed.

It is in the offering,

Of all that I am,

Each truth that remains,

When all that is false,

Is, by your Grace, burned away,

That I know myself to be free.

In this Moment,

I live,

Because you Live,

In me………………………………
