Freedom Breeze

  1. Not very sensible ideas about God have thrown up walls between Christians, splattered some 4000 denominations about the place, most of them claiming to be the ‘one true church’, and driven a wedge between the heart and mind of human ‘being’. Fourteen years old, trying to worship, so hard, through the disturbance of liturgical, sermonic noise, I remember well the sanctuary of Ilston woods after the climb, over backs of pews and eye, mouth congregants ducking suddenly beneath my urgent feet. I remember the forgiving breath of grass and trees, soothing river, gentle rain, the freedom breeze of God given wonder’s return.
